bike rides

I've forgotten the simple joy of riding a bike.  Once Ty and I knew we would be spending the summer in Salt Lake City, we quickly agreed that we must get bikes.  We've been taking after-dinner rides now since we got them and it's been so much fun.  Again, it's easy to fall in love with our neighborhood when you're cruising around at dusk, checking out all of the interesting old houses and feeling the wind in your hair.  Ty showed me this really cool route that takes you to the top of the Avenues where you can get a really nice view of the whole city.  I can't believe it's in our backyard.  We saw the cutest little girl (just learning to ride) the other night who was repeatedly riding down her driveway and turning into the sidewalk where she would sort of lean down and fall over instead of stop (hadn't quite figured out the brakes apparently).  She would get up and wave at us and do it all over again.  I had a flicker of a memory of riding my bike as a kid and thinking the driveway itself was quite a feat.
